The 2022 HMX-1 75th Anniversary Reunion IS A GO!!!

The HMX-1 75th Anniversary reunion is scheduled for Friday 3 June - Saturday 4 June 2022.  The expected schedule of events is outlined below.

Events will be in Quantico and Fredericksburg, VA.

Tentative schedule below:

Friday June 3, 2022
Golf tournament Medal of Honor Golf Course, MCB Quantico, VA (Suggested attire: Appropriate golf attire)
    0700: Continental breakfast
    0800 Tee off (shotgun start)
    1330 Finish (Note: Due to change in HMX-1 75th Anniversary Observation time - golfers ability to attend the ceremony will be impacted)
    Limited to 60 alumni; Cost $85 includes continental breakfast and lunch

1200 - 1500: HMX-1 75th Anniversary Observation at HMX-1 Quantico (Note event time change) (Suggested attire: Business casual - Jacket/tie not required)

1730 - 2130: Check-in lobby Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center (FE&CC)  2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

1730 - 2130: Welcome Aboard reception/mixer FE&CC Ballroom (Cost: $33 plus cash bar) (Suggested attire: Casual - Slacks/jeans w/ collared shirt/polo)

Hotels near Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center:

A check this morning (4/20/2022) indicates that all three of the hotels below are currently fully booked for the reunion weekend. If you are still looking for accommodations, you may want to check the hotels below to see if they have had any cancellations. Otherwise, you will need to book at a different hotel.

Hampton Inn & Suites at Celebrate Virginia

We have a Group Sales Agreement with Hampton Inn & Suites at Celebrate Virginia adjacent to the convention center for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Rates will be $139/night for either a standard king, or 2 queen beds. When making reservations click the link above, select dates, then click "Special Rates" and type HMX in the "Group Code" box. You should be offered the rooms at the HMX-1 Reunion rate. Reservations outside Thursday, Friday, Saturday will be at the hotel's regular rates. Our group rate reservation cutoff date is 5/8/2022 - but suggest that you make reservations early.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Fredericksburg

We have a Group Sales Agreement with Homewood Suites by Hilton adjacent to the convention center for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Rates will be $149/night for a King Studio Suite. When making reservations click the link above, select dates, then click "Special Rates" and type HMX in the "Group Code" box. You should be offered the rooms at the HMX-1 Reunion rate. Reservations outside Thursday, Friday, Saturday will be at the hotel's regular rates.  Our group rate reservation cutoff date is 5/8/2022 - but suggest that you make reservations early. (As this is posted, the Homewood reservations system is not showing our preferred rate for Thursday night. Friday and Saturday are showing at our rates. We are working with the hotel to update their reservations system to include our rate on Thursday night should you want a room on Thursday night).

We have a Group Sales Agreement with Hilton Garden Inn Fredericksburg adjacent to the convention center for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Rates will be $149/night for a King Room. You may call the hotel directly at (540) 548-882 and reference the Nighthawk 75th Anniversary when you make your reservation. OR you can make reservations on line by clicking the link above. Select your dates (between 6/2/2022 and 6/5/2022), click on Special Rates. Enter NHWK in the "Group Code" section. Then select "Check Room and Rates." Room rates outside Thursday, Friday, Saturday will be at the hotel's regular rates.  Our group rate reservation cutoff date is 5/13/2022 - but suggest that you make reservations early. As of 4/5/2022 we have 5 additional rooms blocked for the reunion. If you are looking for a room - goto the Hilton Garden Inn web page - link above - and reserve a room using the Group Code NHWK. Reunion Coordinating Instructions

Quantico Base Access
All reunion participants are highly encouraged to review the MCB Quantico Base Access website (https://www.quantico.marines.mil/Info/Base-Access/ ). The website contains instructions on requirements for base access based on the various categories reunion participants fall into, i.e. retired military, civilian visitor / no military affiliation, etc. In almost all cases visitors will be required to preregister and then go to the Visitor Control Center (VCC) with the required documentation to receive a base pass.

The VCC is in Building 27031X Telegraph Road, Stafford, VA 22554, which is on the west side of Interstate 95 (directions from the reunion hotels are below). Hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Mon-Fri) 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (Sat). As there are 500 participants for the 75th Anniversary Ceremony on Friday and 600 for the Open House on Saturday participants should plan to leave sufficient time to process through the VCC in advance of the beginning of each event.

Parking at HMX-1 (75th Anniversary Ceremony and Open House)
Upon arrival at HMX-1 reunion participants will be directed to parking by HMX-1 Security Marines (see attached diagram). HMX-1 Security will have a roster of participants for each event. Only those who registered for the event and are on the roster will be admitted to the event. Participants should be prepared to present valid ID if requested. Please print and display the parking placard (email attachment) Handicap and VIP parking placards will be sent separately



The following items are prohibited: weapons of any sort, alcohol, non-service animals
Backpacks are allowed, but not recommended, and will be searched. Strollers are permitted

Registration Packets
Pick-up – registration packets may be picked up in the lobby of the Fredericksburg Expo & Convention Center (FE&CC 2371 Carl D. Silver Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) on Friday 3 June from 5:30 - 9:00 PM and Saturday 4 June from 5:00 - 8:30 PM
Contents – the registration packet will be in a 9x12 manila envelope with your first and last name on it. It will contain your name tag and holder, schedule of events, roster of all preregistered attendees, welcome letter, and color-coded meal and event tickets. You will not need your name tag or event ticket for the 75th Anniversary Ceremony at HMX-1 on Friday at 12:00PM

Department signs, i.e. Cage, Stake, Security, etc. will be posted on the ballroom walls to serve as rally points for alumni to link up with those they served with
Bars will accept cash or credit cards only. Reunion participants are highly encouraged to come prepared with small denomination bills to speed up the lines at the bars

Suggested attire: Casual - Shorts OK
1000 - 1500: HMX-1 Quantico
Participants are reminded to bring their event ticket in order to pickup their BBQ lunch
HMX-1 memorabilia will be available for purchase. The Squadron accepts cash and checks, no credit cards. Checks can be made out to “HMX-1 Memorabilia”

Reunion Dinner

Open seating minus a limited number of tables marked as reserved
All meals are gluten free except for the cheesecake dessert. A gluten free brownie will be substituted for the cheesecake for those who indicated they were gluten free on their registration
Participants are reminded to bring their event ticket which will be color coded to indicate entrée choice. Please place your ticket on table in front of you so the serving staff knows which entrée you ordered
